ALGEBRA II SYLLABUS  

 

Teacher:  Mrs. Schroeder

Book:  Algebra 2, Pearson Hall Algebra I Common Core, 2015

Software:   Math XL (The textbook is in the Math XL program.)

Course Requirements:

  • Videos:   Students are required to watch and takes notes on a video of a pre-recorded lecture.   Notes are checked the next day.  
  • Participation:  You will be expected to actively and willingly participate in all class activities.  Time is provided during class to work on practice problems.   Any problems that are not completed during class time then become homework.   Once students have checked the assignment with me then they are expected to check their answers against the key in the back of the room.   This is to allow immediate feedback.
  • Tests & Skill-Checks:    Tests are given after every three to four lessons.   The tests are split into skill-checks which can be retaken.

Grading:

All letter grades will be assigned according to the school approved grading policy.

The numerical grade in this class will be calculated on the following basis:

75%:   Tests (Skill-Checks)

20%:   Practice Problems (Effort Points)

5%:     Notes

This grading process may be altered to fit changes in the curriculum.

Grading Scale:

          A:   93 - 100

  B:   85 - 92

  C:   78 - 84

  D:   70 - 77

  F:   0 - 69
